The tsunami Warning continues in effect for the coastal areas of British Columbia and Alaska from the north tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Cape Fairweather, Alaska (80 miles SE of Yakutat).
If you are located in this coastal area, move inland to higher ground. 
Tsunami Warnings mean that a tsunami with significant widespread inundation is expected or is already occurring.  Tsunamis are a series of waves dangerous many hours after initial arrival time.  The first wave may not be the largest. 
At 1158 PM Alaska Standard Time on January 4 an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 7.5 occurred 95 miles northwest of Dixon Entrance, Alaska.
