The NWS operates two Tsunami Warning Centers

National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC)
The NTWC provides tsunami warning guidance for all U.S. coastal states (except Hawaii), Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Canadian coastal provinces.

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC)
The PTWC provides tsunami warning guidance for Hawaii and other countries in the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Caribbean Sea.

International Coordination

Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program (CTWP)
The CTWP provides support and guidance for tsunami observations, including seismic and sea level systems, tsunami forecasting, communications and education and preparedness in the Caribbean region.

International Tsunami Information Center (ITIC)International Tsunami Information Center (ITIC)
Operated by the NWS on behalf of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, the ITIC supports the IOC's Tsunami Program which focuses on the coordination of tsunami warning and mitigation systems globally. The ITIC provides direct support to Member States in the Pacific by monitoring and recommending operational improvements to the Tsunami Warning System in the Pacific, and by working with countries to increase tsunami awareness and preparedness, and promote education and research.

National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program (NTHMP)National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program (NTHMP)
The NTHMP is a partnership between NOAA, the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the 28 U.S. Coastal States Territories, and Commonwealths. The NTHMP is designed to reduce the impact of tsunamis through hazard assessment, warning guidance, and mitigation.
